Vancouver liegt im Südwesten der Provinz British Columbia an der Westküste Kanadas. Die Stadt befindet sich zwischen der Straße von Georgia und den Coast Mountains, etwa 45 Kilometer nordwestlich der Grenze zu den USA.

Vancouver gehört zum Regionaldistrikt Metro Vancouver, der mit rund 2,4 Millionen Einwohnern die größte Metropolregion Westkanadas und nach Toronto und Montreal die drittgrößte des Landes ist. Die Stadt selbst zählt rund 630.000 Einwohner.

Bekannt ist Vancouver für seine außergewöhnliche Lage: Ozean, Wälder und Berge treffen hier unmittelbar auf urbane Architektur. Diese Kombination macht die Stadt zu einem der landschaftlich reizvollsten Ballungsräume Nordamerikas.

Vancouver is located in southwestern British Columbia on Canada’s west coast. The city lies between the Strait of Georgia and the Coast Mountains, about 45 kilometers northwest of the U.S. border.

Vancouver is part of the Metro Vancouver regional district, which, with around 2.4 million residents, is the largest metropolitan area in Western Canada and the third largest in the country after Toronto and Montreal. The city itself has approximately 630,000 inhabitants.

Vancouver is renowned for its spectacular setting, where ocean, forests and mountains meet modern urban architecture, making it one of North America’s most scenic metropolitan areas.
