„The Canadian“ – Mit dem Zug quer durch Kanada

The Canadian (französisch: Le Canadien) ist ein transkontinentaler Reisezug in Kanada, der zwischen Toronto und Vancouver verkehrt. Er wurde 1955 von der Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) eingeführt und wird seit 1978 von VIA Rail betrieben.

Die Strecke ist 4.466 Kilometer lang und führt von Toronto über Winnipeg, Saskatoon und Edmonton bis nach Vancouver.

Die Fahrt dauert etwa vier Tage und Nächte – eine Reise durch unterschiedlichste Landschaften: von den Seen Ontarios über die endlosen Prärien bis zu den Rocky Mountains und schließlich an die Pazifikküste.

“The Canadian” – Crossing Canada by Train

The Canadian (French: Le Canadien) is a transcontinental passenger train in Canada operating between Toronto and Vancouver. It was introduced in 1955 by the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) and has been operated by VIA Rail since 1978.

The route covers 4,466 kilometers, traveling from Toronto via Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Edmonton to Vancouver.

The journey takes approximately four days and nights – a passage through dramatically changing landscapes: from the lakes of Ontario across the vast prairies to the Rocky Mountains and finally to the Pacific coast.
