Queenstown

Queenstown, eine malerische Stadt auf der Südinsel Neuseelands mit knapp 12.000 Einwohnern, gilt als „Abenteuerhauptstadt“ des Landes.

Die Stadt liegt am Ufer des kristallklaren Lake Wakatipu und ist umgeben von den majestätischen Remarkables-Bergen.

Mit der Skyline Gondola gelangt man hinauf zum Bob’s Peak. Von der Bergstation aus eröffnet sich ein weiter Blick über Queenstown, den Lake Wakatipu und die umliegenden Gipfel.

Den See selbst kann man besonders stimmungsvoll mit dem historischen Dampfschiff MSS Earnslaw erkunden, das seit 1912 über das Wasser fährt.

The town is situated on the shores of the crystal-clear Lake Wakatipu and is surrounded by the majestic Remarkables Mountains.

The Skyline Gondola takes visitors up to Bob’s Peak, where panoramic views over Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains can be enjoyed.

The lake can best be explored aboard the historic steamship MSS Earnslaw, which has been sailing these waters since 1912.
