Kitzsteinhorn – Gletscherberg bei Kaprun

Das Kitzsteinhorn ist ein Berg im Gemeindegebiet von Kaprun im österreichischen Bundesland Salzburg.

Der Berg gehört zur Glocknergruppe in den Hohen Tauern und erreicht eine Höhe von 3203 Metern.

Mit den Gletscherbahnen Kaprun kann man vom Tal auf etwa 911 Metern Höhe bis auf 3029 Meter per Seilbahn gelangen.

Auf dem Dach der Gipfelstation befindet sich die Aussichtsplattform „Top of Salzburg“, von der sich ein beeindruckender Blick über die Alpen bietet.

Von der Bergstation führt unter anderem der 362 Meter lange Glückauf-Hanna-Stollen zu einer weiteren Aussichtsplattform mit Blick auf den Nationalpark Hohe Tauern. Der Stollen wurde im Jahr 1970 eröffnet. (Quelle: Wikipedia)

Kitzsteinhorn – glacier mountain near Kaprun

The Kitzsteinhorn is a mountain located in the municipality of Kaprun in the Austrian federal state of Salzburg.

It is part of the Glockner Group within the Hohe Tauern mountain range and reaches an elevation of 3203 metres.

The summit area can be reached via the Kaprun Glacier Cable Cars, which take visitors from the valley station at about 911 metres up to an altitude of 3029 metres.

On top of the summit station is the viewing platform “Top of Salzburg”, offering impressive views across the Alpine landscape.

From the station, visitors can walk through the 362-metre-long Glückauf-Hanna tunnel to another observation platform overlooking the Hohe Tauern National Park. The tunnel was opened in 1970. (Source: Wikipedia)
