Amsterdam – Stadt der Grachten und Brücken

Amsterdam ist die Hauptstadt der Niederlande und bekannt für ihr künstlerisches Erbe, ein weit verzweigtes Grachtensystem sowie schmale Häuser mit charakteristischen Giebelfassaden, die aus dem Goldenen Zeitalter des 17. Jahrhunderts stammen.

Im Museumsviertel befinden sich bedeutende Kunstsammlungen, darunter das Van-Gogh-Museum, das Rijksmuseum mit Werken von Rembrandt und Vermeer sowie das Stedelijk Museum für moderne Kunst.

Das Fahrrad gehört ganz selbstverständlich zur Stadtkultur – in Amsterdam gibt es sogar mehr Fahrräder als Einwohner.

Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands and is famous for its artistic heritage, its extensive canal system and the narrow houses with gabled facades dating back to the city’s Golden Age in the 17th century.

The museum district includes important cultural institutions, such as the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum with works by Rembrandt and Vermeer, and the Stedelijk Museum for modern art.

Cycling is an essential part of everyday life in the city – Amsterdam actually has more bicycles than residents.
