Den Haag ist eine der bedeutendsten Städte der Niederlande und bekannt als Sitz der niederländischen Regierung sowie des Königshauses. Obwohl Amsterdam die Hauptstadt ist, befinden sich in Den Haag das Parlament, viele Ministerien und wichtige internationale Institutionen.
Mit rund 569.000 Einwohnern zählt Den Haag zu den größten Städten der Niederlande und ist nach Amsterdam und Rotterdam die drittgrößte Stadt des Landes.
Im historischen Zentrum liegen beeindruckende Gebäude wie der Binnenhof, der seit Jahrhunderten das politische Herz des Landes bildet, sowie der Friedenspalast, in dem internationale Gerichte ihren Sitz haben.
Neben Politik und Geschichte bietet Den Haag auch viel Kultur. Bedeutende Museen wie das Mauritshuis mit Werken von Vermeer und Rembrandt oder das Kunstmuseum Den Haag machen die Stadt zu einem wichtigen Ort für Kunstliebhaber.
Besonders reizvoll ist die Nähe zum Meer: Der Stadtteil Scheveningen mit seinem langen Sandstrand, der Promenade und dem Pier gehört zu den bekanntesten Badeorten der Niederlande.

The Hague is one of the most important cities in the Netherlands and is known as the seat of the Dutch government and the royal family. Although Amsterdam is the capital, the parliament, many ministries and important international institutions are located in The Hague.
With around 569,000 inhabitants, The Hague is one of the largest cities in the Netherlands and is the third-largest city in the country after Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
In the historic city centre, impressive buildings such as the Binnenhof, which has been the political heart of the country for centuries, and the Peace Palace, home to international courts, can be found.
In addition to politics and history, The Hague also offers a rich cultural scene. Important museums such as the Mauritshuis, with works by Vermeer and Rembrandt, and the Kunstmuseum Den Haag make the city an important place for art lovers.
The city’s proximity to the sea is especially attractive: the district of Scheveningen, with its long sandy beach, promenade and pier, is one of the best-known seaside resorts in the Netherlands.
